Written for readers who have finished Book 1.
Micah Brandt is Erin's older brother: thirty-three, built like the linebacker he almost was, a head and a half taller than his sister and still able to lift her an inch off the floor when he hugs her. He works on Beacon's security side, knows how a building that size moves on a Sunday, and is liked and trusted by everyone in it. When he is sounded out for a new liaison role, carrying the church into the rooms where things get decided, he tries not to show how pleased he is and shows it completely. Somebody faithful should be in those rooms, he says. Better us than not us.
